David: It’s happening every time, not just on the first. I’ve rebooted, and still the same. I’m on a Mac (10.5.4) with InDesign 5.0.2.

Kris: I’m on a 2 x 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Power Mac with 6GB 800MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM. Speed shouldn’t be an issue. I’ll try logging in as a different account, and see how I go.

Hi Stephen,

If you want to, I can attempt to find out what the cause is - a lot depends on what computer you’re using (i.e. how fast it is), what else is installed (i.e. are there any other programs that try to interpret the keyboard - QuicKeys for example, or some plug-in that does something), etc… One thing to try (works both on Mac and Windows) is to create a fresh, temporary user-account and log in as that fresh account. Because the account is new, it’ll have a new InDesign prefs file. Try the scripts, and if they work fine, then something is lurking in the prefs of your ‘normal’ account.

@Stephen: No, I don’t think you should get a SBBOD. That is strange. Is it only the first time you use each script, perhaps? Mac or Windows? I have not seen a delay at all.

@Charles: We have had a few reports of this, but most people can download them fine. We’re exploring what the issue could be. When people have had this problem, they tell me that if they try again, it usually works fine. It’s just a 16K zip file (technically 12,316 bytes).

This looks great, but I’m having trouble with the downloaded zip file. On both MacOS X and XP I’m getting told that it’s corrupt. Am I doing something wrong?

These are great, thanks, but I get the spinning beach ball of death for a split second each time I invoke one of these scripts. Is that normal? It’s only a slight delay, but it’s enough of a delay that I think it’d be just as quick to use the mouse. It’s not the instant response I’d like to make these shortcuts worthwhile. Cheers.

Hi David,

Yes, it currently only supports CS3. I guess it would be possible to make CS2 and CS versions - it’d be interesting to find out if there is a sufficient demand for that…
