He has responsibility for workflow and product interoperability issues associated with print publishing workflow products as well as serving as the "spiritual venture capitalist" for the Adobe PDF Print Engine technology. ![]() | Thomas Phinney Thomas Phinney is involved in the technical, design, historical, forensic and business aspects of type, as well as working closely with other font developers and customers. His typeface "Hypatia Sans" is an upcoming Adobe Originals release. Thomas started doing desktop publishing in 1987, and got hooked on typography shortly thereafter. He has worked with Adobe's type group for nine years, currently as program manager for fonts and SING technologies, based in Seattle. | | Chuck WegerChuck Weger is well-known in Graphic Arts as a workflow/scripting consultant, and as the original inventor of "preflight." He's less well known as the person who gives away nose flutes at national conferences. Chuck programmed his first computer decades ago (yes, Virginia, there WERE punched cards), and once worked at NASA on a 16,000-processor parallel computer. These days, he designs and builds systems on Macs and Windows for publishers, agencies, printers, and Fortune 500 companies. He specializes in workflow automation with the Adobe Creative Suite, but also does web development and database design using MySQL, SQL Server, and FileMaker. In his spare time, Chuck plays the Theremin and annoys his family by doing bad imitations of old Star Trek episodes. |
