Natsuhiko Kyogoku
Novelist
Renowned novelist Natsuhiko Kyogoku was born in Otraru, Hokkaido. After attending Kuwasawa Design School, he joined an ad agency and later founded his own production company. He still serves as the art director, and works on various design and bookbinding projects for his company. Mr. Kyogoku currently serves as a councilor of the World Yokai Council of the World Yookai Association. He is also a member of Kanto Mizuki Group; a founder of Kaidan No Kai (The Ghost Story Association); a member of Mai, the journal of Japanese classic playgame study group; and a sponsor of the Japan Yokai Promotion Committee. He is a novelist whose works have received a number of prominent literary awards in Japan.
Tztom Toda
Graphic Designer
Since 1980, renowned designer Tztom Toda has been focusing on editorial design and book making for thousands of publications, including magazines, corporate newsletters, college brochures, CD-ROMs and HD images. He is the author of D-ZONE Editorial Design 1975-1999 (Seidosha) and Into Electronic Thinking... (Nikkei, Inc.), managing editor of d/SIGN magazine (Ohta Publishing Co.) and graphic/design magazine (Sayusha), and professor at Kobe Design University.
Tim Cole
Adobe Systems, Inc.
Tim Cole is Adobe's senior InDesign evangelist. In 1998, Tim began working with InDesign developers and product management, prior to the release of version 1.0. He currently evangelizes InDesign and other Adobe products and technologies to newspaper, magazine, ad agency and other markets. Prior to his current position, Tim worked in tech support and technical training at Aldus for six years, wrote for Aldus Magazine, and also spent three years working for internet technology startups. Tim's current primary focus are InDesign features and techniques, and he's spent the last 5 years introducing publishers to InDesign and its superior tool set.

Yuichi Inomata
Conference Chairman
Yuichi Inomata founded the first Macintosh-based service bureau in Japan, Graphitech, in Tokyo Namikibashi in 1986. Based on this experience, he set up a Macintosh user support organization and started the design information magazine MdN (Macintosh designers Network). Along with his colleagues, Diane Burns and the late David Smith, Mr. Inomata was a key participant in the early days of DTP in Japan. Since 1989, he has been Professor of Graphic Design at Tama Art University. Mr. Inomata is also Head Director of Japan Publishing Consortium (JPC).

Diane Burns
TechArt International
Diane Burns is one of the early pioneers in electronic publishing, both in Japan and the U.S.A. In 1984 she founded TechArt International in San Francisco, which was one of the first Macintosh-based design firms in the U.S.A. and today is one of the leading U.S. firms for print and web design, specializing in East Asian languages. Diane was an active consultant to Apple Computer Japan from 1987 to 1995, and earned the nickname "DTP no ha ha" (Mother of DTP). During those years she wrote articles that appeared in several issues of MdN Magazine. She served on the Board of Directors of TechArt Japan, Inc., which was established from 1993-2003. In the U.S., she is an Adobe Authorized Instructor and the author of several books and many articles on publishing, including frequent contributions to InDesign Magazine.
Sandee Cohen
After a long career in advertising, Sandee Cohen began teaching computer graphics 18 years ago. She has taught at New York University, University of Hawaii, Parsons School of Design, and Cooper Union as well major publishing and advertising agencies. A dynamic and entertaining speaker, she has been a frequent participant at Macworld Expo and Mogo-Media events. She is the co-author of the Real World Creative Suite book as well as author of books on InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and desktop publishing.
Hideaki Gunji
Joined Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. upon graduating from Chiba University in 1979. Mainly incharge of imaging technology and contributed to development of digital technology. In Sept 2006, he left the company to realize the solutions he has evangelized. Currently as the R&D director of JAGAT (Japan Association of Graphic Arts Technology), he continues to work as an evangelist. Also a well-known master of the famous imaging-Park Forum. Also serves as a deputy vice-president of JPC (Japan Publishing Consortium), a vice-chairman of DTP Expert Certification committee, and on a steering committee of DENJUKU. Among his many books are “RGB Re-touch complete works,” “Practical rules guide to color management,” and “RGB delivery guide.”
Seuzo Ichikawa
Thinks Co.,Ltd.
Seuzo Ichikawa is an InDesign scripting expert and author of the book Introduction to Adobe InDesign for QuarkXPress Users. Examples of his work can be found on his web site, Showtime one (in Japanese only). His seminar will answer questions such as "This script seems interesting, but how can I use it?" He will show the audience how to minimize the repetition of their routine work and discover an unknown side of InDesign.

Takashi Iwamoto

Masaki Kogi

After working for an art publisher, Masaki Kogi entered Works Corporation Inc. in 1998 and served as the editor-in-chief of DTPWORLD and CGWORLD magazines. He joined Mainichi Communications Inc. in 2005, started publishing DESIGNING magazine in June, 2006, and currently works as the editor-in-chief of DESIGNING and DTP magazines.

Shinichi Konno
Director, Toppan Printing Co., Ltd.
After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan KOGEI high school design department, Shinichi Konno worked in several design and production companies before joining Toppan in 1993. Currently he serves in the technical SE section of the Technology Center of Commercial/Publishing Manྫྷturing business department of the Information Communication Business Center at Toppan. As the director of Toppan's digital customer support team, he is involved in the typesetting design of numerous books and magazines. He garners attention for his concrete DTP vision based on his enormous knowledge of type faces.
Hiroshi Kouno
Technical Consultant, Quark Japan
He joined Quark Japan in 2000 as technical support, currently in charge of technical consulting. Taking advantage of his six years of support operations, his consultation ranges from individuals to large-scale groups. He prides in his light footwork that takes him anywhere and good luck with weather. In 2008, he moves through the country with a mission to convey the power of the next Japanese version of QuarkXPress.
Gento Matsumoto

Art director and graphic designer. Among his notable books are Works and Environment of Gento Matsumoto (Rikuyosha Co., Ltd.) and Not Diary Book (Little More Co., Ltd.). Among his notable works are “Jungle Park (Digitalog)” and “Dobutsu Bancho (Nintendo).” Among his notable cover designs are “Fireworks” and “Dozing off” by Rinko Kawauchi (both Little More Co., Ltd.) and “Diary of a Pop Addict” by Masayuki Kawakatsu. He received TD prize, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry prize at Multimedia Grand Prix, ADC prize and New York Disk of the Year Grand Prix. A member of Tokyo TDC. Yuji Mori
Yuji Mori is a freelance designer based in Nagoya, and has hosted websites called InDesign Study Room and DTP Study Room. He currently writes serial articles such as Paradigm of InDesign for DTPWORLD and Practice Edition of Mac OS X by Okubo Design Office for Mac Fan.

Koji Ohashi

Koji Osato

Koji Osato is the president of THINKSNEO and art director of Arcadia Monthly magazine (Enterbrain, Inc.), and also works as a part-time instructor at Correspondence Division Faculty of Arts, Osaka University of Arts. He is the author of Killer DTP Techniques by Professionals: Secrets of Comprehensive Usage of Adobe Creative Suite 2 (Mainichi Communications Inc.) and co-author of the Adobe Creative Suite 2 Official Training Book (Works Corporation Inc.). Garr Reynolds

A writer, designer, and musician, he currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Management at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. Garr is a former corporate trainer for Sumitomo Electric, and has worked as the Manager for Worldwide User Group Relations at Apple, Inc. A longtime student of the Zen arts and resident of Japan, he currently lives in Osaka where he is Director of Design Matters Japan. Koichi Sakano

Born in Kobe, he worked on editorial design of product manuals at Sony Corporation. He studied under an illustrious graphic designer Kohei Sugiura before establishing welle design in 2003. His work is mainly focused around book covers, but extends to editorial design of Adobe Essential Guide series, product manuals and textbooks.

After having worked for a prepress company, now he works at a commercial photo studio. He is in charge of designing DTP workflow and technical support based on prepress technology such as constructing color management system and teaching image re-touching. Also works as a writer in DTP field and a seminar teacher.
Masahiro Takano

While designing and consulting for websites, he does training and writing on Web and DTP. Has written more than 10 books. He also runs DTP Transit. Author of Complete conquer Illustrator CS2 (Shoeisha) and editor of Dreamweaver CS3 Professional Style, among others.
Tetsuya Tsukada and Hidechika
Dainippon Type Organization
Established in 1993 by bearded but no last name Hidechika and non-bearded but last named Tetsuya Tsukada. They spent 15 years shyly playing with the types. It’s a practical type unit in search for the new type concept by deconstructing, combining and reconstructing. Their work is not restricted by genre: font development, logos, T-shirt, towels, wrapping cloths, editorial and visuals. They had solo exhibitions in Tokyo, London and Barcelona as well as other exhibits in and out of Japan. This summer, their 15-year anniversary portolio book is coming out.
