  • 10 Tricks Every InDesign User Needs to Know (9:00–10:15)

  • We’ve traveled around the world doing InDesign training, and we’ve distilled out ten tricks that every InDesign user should know (but few people do). From essential shortcuts to formatting imported text and graphics quickly, this session is chock-full o’ jewels that are good (and good for you, too).

    Text and Graphics (10:30–11:20)

  • Learn the secrets of how the InDesign masters import and manage their text and graphics—from the fastest way to apply styles to the most efficient way to control transparency and linked images. Explore tricks for flowing long documents, anchoring images to text, and formatting type in the blink of an eye.

  • Layout Techniques (11:30–12:00)

  • Creating an InDesign document is like constructing a building—if you don’t know how to build a firm foundation, the whole thing could come tumbling down. In this short session, you’ll learn some of the most important layout techniques, including working with master pages, layout adjustment, guides, and alignment
Joining David in this session will be local trainer and InDesign Magazine contributor, Diane Burns of TechArt San Francisco.

  • LUNCH ON YOUR OWN (12:00–1:00PM)

Technology Sponsored Presentation- Gridiron Software (1:00-1:25)

Get a first-hand look at GridIron Software’s award-winning Flow, a revolutionary new approach to workflow management for creative professionals.

  • InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator: Put ’Em Together (1:30–2:15)

If you use Illustrator and/or Photoshop alongside InDesign, you have to see this session. Find out the best way to make these programs work together, including ensuring maximum quality while maintaining maximum flexibility.

    Troubleshooting (2:30–3:00)

InDesign is a very robust program, but everyone has troubles sooner or later. Learn how to manage when the application acts odd, your document freaks out, or you just can’t figure out why something is happening. The fix is usually not as hard as you fear.

20 Free Scripts, Plug-ins, and Resources You Must Have (3:15–4:00)

  • If you’re just using the features built in to InDesign, you’re not being efficient. Learn what free and low-cost add-ons you need to boost your productivity, automate mundane tasks, and increase your creative potential.

  • Problem? Solution. (4:00–4:30)

Everyone comes to these conferences with at least one burning question about InDesign that tragically doesn’t get addressed during the day. Here’s your chance to ask that question, and learn something from the answers to your colleague’s questions.
